# The Best Qualtrics Alternatives for 2026

_Fifteen honest Qualtrics alternatives, grouped by what you actually need: employee-experience platforms (Culture Amp, Perceptyx), self-serve survey tools (SurveyMonkey, QuestionPro, Alchemer, Typeform, SurveySparrow, Survicate), customer-experience and VoC suites (Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr, Verint), and market and UX research (Attest, Alida, UserTesting). Plus Sageo, honestly: not a survey tool, but the performance and development layer that acts on culture rather than just measuring it._

By The Sageo Team. Updated October 2026. 22 min read.

Qualtrics is the category-defining experience management (XM) platform: a research-grade survey engine with four pillars (customer, employee, brand and product) on one data backbone, plus Stats iQ, Text iQ and deep benchmarks. It is powerful and credible, rated 4.4 on G2 across more than 3,000 reviews. Most teams do not leave because it is weak. They leave because it is expensive and keeps getting more so, complex to run, overkill for what they actually need, and quote-only, so you cannot even see the price without a sales process.

> **A note on who wrote this**
>
> Sageo publishes this comparison, and Sageo is one of the sixteen products in it, though not a like-for-like Qualtrics replacement (section 8 is the honest version). So we held ourselves to three rules. Every Qualtrics and competitor figure comes from vendor documentation, G2, Capterra, TrustRadius and procurement data (Vendr), as of October 2026. Every Sageo claim comes from sageo.ai. And where another product is the better fit, we say so plainly. The honest headline: not every "Qualtrics alternative" serves the same buyer, so this page groups them by what you actually need.

## 1. Which Qualtrics alternative should you choose?

"Qualtrics" is really four products in one: employee experience, a survey engine, customer experience, and market research. The right alternative depends on which of those you were actually using, and how much research rigor you need. Match the job to the shortlist.

**Quick picks**

| If you were using Qualtrics for... | Look at | Why |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Employee engagement, plus you want performance and development in one HR-friendly platform | Culture Amp | The closest employee-experience swap, with native performance management (reviews, calibration, 1:1s, goals) that Qualtrics EmployeeXM does not have as a first-class product. |
| Enterprise employee listening with a people-science services bench and an action layer | Perceptyx | Two decades of EX-only depth, a heavy services bench, and the Humu nudge engine for behavior change, for Global 2000 scale. |
| Fast, self-serve surveys at a published price | SurveyMonkey, QuestionPro | Cheaper, faster and self-serve. SurveyMonkey for speed and reach; QuestionPro for the closest Qualtrics-like research breadth (conjoint, MaxDiff, communities) at a fraction of the cost. |
| Flexible mid-market survey design with predictable pricing | Alchemer, Typeform | Alchemer for powerful survey logic plus feedback automation at published per-user pricing; Typeform for beautiful, high-completion conversational forms and intake. |
| Affordable CX plus EX in one tool, or in-product feedback live in days | SurveySparrow, Survicate | SurveySparrow bundles conversational CX, EX and 360 affordably; Survicate is strongest for in-product and website feedback targeting with fast setup. |
| Customer experience, VoC or contact center, not employee at all | Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr, Verint | Omnichannel CX and interaction analytics. Medallia and InMoment for VoC, Sprinklr for social and digital care, Verint for contact-center workforce and speech analytics. Weak employee-experience swaps. |
| Market, consumer or UX research | Attest, Alida, UserTesting | Specialist research. Attest for a built-in consumer panel, Alida for insight communities, UserTesting for qualitative UX video. They replace only the research slice. |
| You actually wanted to act on culture, run performance and development, not just measure sentiment | Sageo | Not a survey or XM tool. A culture-first performance platform: competency frameworks from your values, then 360s, calibration, 1:1s and development plans. About €6 per seat in Europe ($7 elsewhere), every module included. See section 8 for what it is and is not. |

## 2. Why do teams leave Qualtrics?

Six reasons come up again and again across review sites. None of them mean Qualtrics is a poor product. They mean it is priced and scoped for a large enterprise with a dedicated research, CX or people-analytics team, and if that is not you, the fit gets expensive and heavy.

- **Cost, and cost that creeps:** The single most common complaint. Reviewers say the price has crept up over the years to the point that it is significantly higher, and renewals carry roughly a 5 percent annual uplift. A real EmployeeXM deployment lands in the five figures and up before add-ons. Verified contract data (Vendr) shows a median around $30,000 a year with a 20x spread.
- **Too much platform:** Most buyers need engagement, lifecycle and action planning. Qualtrics sells a four-pillar enterprise suite, and teams pay for and navigate complexity they never use. One reviewer: for organizations that only need simple surveys, it feels more complex than necessary.
- **Steep learning curve and setup burden:** Reviewers describe it as overwhelming at first and difficult to configure without prior experience. It often needs a dedicated admin or an outside consultant, a hidden cost on top of the license.
- **Everything is an add-on:** The quote is a starting point, not the total. Text iQ, Stats iQ, extra responses and services all stack on, so the real cost is rarely the headline number.
- **Opaque, quote-only pricing:** Nothing is published for CoreXM, EmployeeXM or CustomerXM. The only public number is Strategic Research self-serve at $420 a month. Everything enterprise is negotiated, which makes it slow to evaluate and easy to overpay.
- **Response caps and slow time to value:** Contracts cap annual responses, and exceeding the cap triggers overages or a mid-term renegotiation. Long implementations and clunky reporting mean it can take months to get insight a lighter, AI-native tool surfaces faster.

## 3. Not every alternative is for the same buyer

This is the most important thing to understand before you shortlist. The fifteen tools here are not interchangeable, because Qualtrics spans four jobs. They fall into four groups, and the right one depends on which slice of Qualtrics you were using.

- **1. Employee experience (the closest like-for-like for EmployeeXM):** Culture Amp and Perceptyx. Purpose-built employee listening and, in Culture Amp's case, performance and development too. These are the real swaps if you bought Qualtrics for the employee pillar.
- **2. Broad survey and research platforms (CoreXM swaps):** SurveyMonkey, QuestionPro, Alchemer, Typeform, SurveySparrow and Survicate. Cheaper, faster, self-serve, with published pricing. Thinner on the EX lifecycle and advanced analytics.
- **3. Customer experience, VoC and contact center (not employee at all):** Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr and Verint. Strong in customer experience, social and interaction analytics. Weak or absent on employee experience, so weak like-for-like swaps for an EX buyer.
- **4. Market, consumer and UX research (adjacent, not XM):** Attest, Alida and UserTesting. Specialist research tools (panels, insight communities, UX video). They replace only the research slice of Qualtrics, not EX or CX operations.

**Where Sageo sits:** outside all four as a measurement tool. Sageo is a performance and development platform, not a survey or experience-management product. It is only relevant to the employee pillar, and even there it is built to act on culture (run reviews, calibration and development), not to measure sentiment at research grade. Section 8 is the honest version.

## 4. How the alternatives compare

**Qualtrics and fifteen alternatives, 2026**

| Tool | Bucket | Pricing | G2 (reviews) |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Qualtrics | XM platform (baseline) | Quote-only; self-serve Strategic Research $420/mo; Vendr median ~$30K/yr | 4.4 (3,020) |
| Culture Amp | Employee experience | Quote; ~$60 to $108/emp/yr (est); entry ~$4,500/yr | 4.5 (1,620) |
| Perceptyx | Employee experience | Quote-only; ~$6 to $14/emp/mo (unverified est) | 4.5 (40) |
| SurveyMonkey | Broad survey | Published; Team $30 to $92/user/mo; Enterprise custom | 4.4 (24,043) |
| QuestionPro | Broad survey/research | Published; Advanced $99/user/mo; free tier | 4.5 (1,161) |
| Alchemer | Broad survey | Published; $315 / $1,075 / $1,895 per user/yr | 4.4 (958) |
| Typeform | Forms/survey | Published; Basic ~$29 to $39/mo up | 4.5 (1,026) |
| SurveySparrow | Survey / CX+EX | Published; $19 / $39 / ~$79 to $99/mo | 4.4 (2,065) |
| Survicate | Feedback / CX | Published; ~$56 to $569/mo tiers | 4.6 (216) |
| Medallia | CX / VoC | Quote-only, EDR-metered; enterprise | 4.5 (212) |
| InMoment | CX / VoC | Quote-only; wide Vendr band | 4.7 (319) |
| Sprinklr | Unified CXM | Quote-only (self-serve dropped) | 4.3 (770) |
| Verint | CX / contact center | Quote-only, module-based | 4.2 (213) |
| Attest | Market research | Credit-based annual; Basic ~$15K/yr | 4.5 (169) |
| Alida | Insight communities | Quote-only; Sparq ~$60K to $150K/yr (est) | 4.4 (132) |
| UserTesting | UX research | Quote-only; ~$40K median/yr (est) | 4.4 (794) |
| Sageo | Performance / EX layer | Published; about €6/seat (Europe), $7 elsewhere, all modules | n/a (too new) |

_Qualtrics is the baseline (first row). Ratings are G2 with review counts in brackets, checked October 2026, and vary by product listing. Capterra and GetApp often share one Gartner Digital Markets pool. Quote-only pricing is directional, not list prices, and figures marked (est) are third-party estimates. Sageo is listed last and is intentionally unrated: it is too new for a meaningful public review record, and it is a performance layer rather than a survey or XM tool._

## 5. What the alternatives cost

Pricing transparency is one of the clearest contrasts an alternative can draw against Qualtrics, which is quote-only for anything serious.

- **The published-pricing survey tools:** SurveyMonkey (Team from $30 per user), QuestionPro (Advanced $99 per user, with a free tier), Alchemer ($315 to $1,895 per user per year), Typeform (Basic from about $29), SurveySparrow (from $19) and Survicate (from about $56) all publish prices and are self-serve. For a team that just needs good surveys, that removes weeks of sales friction.
- **The quote-only enterprise tools:** Culture Amp and Perceptyx (EX), Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr and Verint (CX), and Alida and UserTesting (research) are quote-only. Expect five to six figures a year, with Vendr medians commonly in the low tens of thousands but ranges into the hundreds of thousands for large deployments.
- **Watch the response caps and add-ons:** Survey tools meter on annual responses, and overages get expensive at scale. The enterprise CX and research tools add modules (text analytics, extra panels, services) on top of the base, so always get a fully loaded quote including the specific capability you need.
- **Sageo publishes a flat rate:** About €6 per seat per month in Europe ($7 elsewhere, priced by region), every module included, no per-module upsell. It is a different category, but on transparency it is at the opposite end from Qualtrics.

## 6. Each alternative in depth

Grouped by the four buckets above. Each profile covers what the tool is, where it beats Qualtrics, where it falls short, price and a verdict. Sageo comes last, as the one that is not a survey tool at all.

**Group 1: Employee experience (the closest EmployeeXM swaps)**

### Culture Amp

Culture Amp is the category-defining, purpose-built employee experience platform (engagement plus performance and development), positioned as the HR-friendly end of the market against Qualtrics's research-grade, analyst-oriented XM. It is the closest like-for-like swap if you bought Qualtrics for the employee pillar.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Built for one buyer (HR and People teams) and speaks HR, not research ops, so it meets non-research teams where they are.
- Native performance management (reviews, calibration, 1:1s, goals, 360s, development) that Qualtrics EmployeeXM does not have as a first-class product.
- Beats Qualtrics EX on G2 for ease of use (9.0 versus 8.6), setup and product direction, with science-backed templates and benchmarks from around 1.5 billion workplace data points.

**Watch out for**

- Employee experience only: no CustomerXM, BrandXM or ProductXM, so it is not one vendor across customer, brand, product and employee.
- Lighter advanced statistics (no Stats iQ or Predict iQ equivalent), less raw survey flexibility, and reviewers note customization limits on surveys and reports.

**Pricing**

Quote-only, annual, no free plan. Third-party estimates put it around $60 to $108 per employee per year, with entry near $4,500 for small teams and full-suite enterprise roughly $40,000 to $80,000-plus a year.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (around 1,620 reviews) and 4.6 on Capterra (163). Private, venture-backed, valued near $1.5B at its 2021 Series F.

**Verdict:** the strongest Qualtrics EmployeeXM alternative for an HR team that wants engagement plus real performance and development, as long as you do not need the customer, brand and product pillars.

### Perceptyx

Perceptyx is an enterprise employee-listening and people-analytics specialist, one of the purest direct competitors to Qualtrics EmployeeXM. It trades Qualtrics's multi-pillar breadth for two decades of EX-only depth, a heavy services bench, and a behavior-change action layer.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Pure EX focus with a people-science and advisory bench that implements end-to-end listening programs, versus Qualtrics's self-serve default.
- A genuine behavior-change layer: the Humu nudge engine and Cultivate AI coaching, which Qualtrics does not match out of the box.
- Rates slightly better than Qualtrics on G2 for ease of use, being a good business partner, and product direction.

**Watch out for**

- Employee-only: no CustomerXM, BrandXM or ProductXM, and not a general-purpose survey engine like CoreXM.
- Less survey and reporting flexibility (reporting is the consistent soft spot) and a smaller analytics brand than Qualtrics's iQ suite.

**Pricing**

Quote-only, no published price; one unverified third-party estimate is around $6 to $14 per employee per month. Rated at G2's top cost tier, same as Qualtrics.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (40 reviews); the Capterra and other listings have single-review scores that are not meaningful. Founded 2003, bootstrapped and profitable; acquired Humu in 2023.

**Verdict:** the enterprise EX pick when you want deep employee listening with a services bench and a nudge-based action layer, for Global 2000 scale rather than SMBs.

**Group 2: Broad survey and research platforms (CoreXM swaps)**

### SurveyMonkey

SurveyMonkey is the default, self-serve online survey tool built for speed, reach and transparent pricing, the pragmatic lightweight pick against Qualtrics's heavyweight research-grade XM.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Transparent published pricing and self-serve from about $30 per user per month, versus Qualtrics's quote-only model.
- A far gentler learning curve: a non-technical person can build and launch the same afternoon.
- The SurveyMonkey Audience panel (335M-plus people across 130-plus countries), available even on the free plan, plus 500-plus templates.

**Watch out for**

- No true EX program layer (no integrated lifecycle, 360, manager action planning or people analytics as a managed program).
- Lighter statistics (no Stats iQ, Driver iQ or Predict iQ equivalent), shallower text analytics and weaker advanced survey logic.

**Pricing**

Published, billed annually. Team Advantage $30 per user per month, Team Premier $92 per user per month, with individual plans from about $39 and Enterprise custom.

**What users say**

Rated 4.4 on G2 (24,043 reviews, by far the largest base here) and 4.6 on Capterra (10,515). Taken private by Symphony Technology Group in 2023; reverted from the Momentive brand to SurveyMonkey.

**Verdict:** the fast, cheap, self-serve survey tool for teams that need good surveys and clean reporting, not a managed EX program or research-grade analytics.

### QuestionPro

QuestionPro is a full-stack survey and research platform (Survey, Research Suite, CX, Workforce) and one of the closest like-for-like Qualtrics alternatives, winning on price and accessibility while trailing on enterprise polish and benchmarking.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- The closest feature parity in this set at far lower, published, per-seat pricing with a free tier.
- A genuine market-research suite: conjoint, anchored MaxDiff, TURF, card sorting, 50-plus question types, SPSS and R export, plus a 22-million-plus audience panel and communities.
- Strong support and ease of use, and Workforce (EX) bundles that include unlimited users and responses.

**Watch out for**

- Lighter text analytics (versus Text iQ) and no predictive layer equivalent to Predict iQ.
- No normative benchmark databases at Qualtrics scale, advanced features gated behind higher tiers, and a dated, cluttered UI.

**Pricing**

Published, billed annually. Essentials free, Advanced $99 per user per month, Team $83 per user per month, with the Research Suite and CX/Workforce custom.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (1,161 reviews) and 4.8 on Capterra (544). Founded 2005, bootstrapped and privately held.

**Verdict:** the best value for Qualtrics-like research breadth: conjoint, MaxDiff and communities at a fraction of the cost, if you can live with a dated UI and lighter benchmarks.

### Alchemer

Alchemer (formerly SurveyGizmo) is a survey-first mid-market feedback platform offering powerful, flexible survey design plus feedback automation at published, predictable pricing, a rung below Qualtrics on enterprise rigor and several rungs below on price.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Published per-user tiers versus quote-only, so a team needing great surveys runs it for a fraction of a Qualtrics deployment.
- Survey flexibility power users like (advanced logic, branching, piping, plus MaxDiff and conjoint on Full Access).
- Alchemer Workflow no-code feedback automation with 400-plus integrations, plus responsive support and fast time to value.

**Watch out for**

- No dedicated EX lifecycle suite (it runs employee surveys but not an end-to-end EX product) and no curated benchmark library.
- Lighter predictive analytics (no Predict iQ) and newer AI text analytics still early in rollout.

**Pricing**

Published per-user tiers: Collaborator $315 per user per year, Professional $1,075, Full Access $1,895 (adding MaxDiff, conjoint, SPSS and R), with Enterprise custom.

**What users say**

Rated 4.4 on G2 (around 958 reviews) and 4.5 on Capterra (393). KKR took a majority stake in 2022 after 16 years bootstrapped.

**Verdict:** the mid-market pick for powerful, flexible surveys plus feedback automation at a published price, when you do not need a full EX program or deep predictive analytics.

### Typeform

Typeform is a conversational, one-question-at-a-time form and survey builder whose design lifts completion rates. It is a lightweight intake layer for marketing, ops and product, not an experience-management or EX research platform.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- A best-in-class conversational respondent experience that lifts completion versus dense grid surveys.
- Minutes to build and publish with no specialist or implementation, versus Qualtrics's steep curve.
- Native lead and GTM integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Stripe, Calendly, 300-plus apps) plus published, card-payable pricing.

**Watch out for**

- No advanced statistics (no regression, key-driver, conjoint or predictive modeling) and lighter text analytics; no EX lifecycle, 360 or action planning.
- No benchmarks, and per-response caps that get expensive at scale, plus API rate limits.

**Pricing**

Published tiers: Basic from about $29, Plus about $56, Business about $91 per month (annual), with Enterprise custom. Note the site shows conflicting plan-card and comparison-table prices, so verify at source.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (1,026 reviews) and 4.7 on Capterra (984). Founded 2012 in Barcelona, VC-backed, valued near $935M in 2022.

**Verdict:** the choice for high-completion forms, quizzes and intake, not for research or employee-experience programs. A different job from Qualtrics.

### SurveySparrow

SurveySparrow is a conversational experience-management platform that bundles CX, EX, 360 and reputation management into one affordable tool, selling accessibility and chat-style completion against Qualtrics's enterprise rigor.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Conversational, chat-style surveys the company claims lift response rates by up to 40 percent (a vendor claim, not independently verified).
- Published, affordable pricing starting at $19 a month and self-serve from signup, versus Qualtrics quote-only.
- Bundles CX (NPS, CSAT, CES), EX (pulse, lifecycle, 360) and reputation management in one platform instead of separately priced pillars.

**Watch out for**

- Lighter advanced statistics and modeling, and reporting is the softest edge (one reviewer called it "abysmal").
- Lighter EX lifecycle depth (thinner manager action planning and people analytics) and no comparable benchmark library.

**Pricing**

Published: Basic $19, Starter $39, Business roughly $79 to $99 per month (annual), with Enterprise custom and extra seats about $49 per user.

**What users say**

Rated 4.4 on G2 (2,065 reviews) and 4.4 on Capterra (123). Founded 2017, VC-backed, with FY25 revenue around $8.6M.

**Verdict:** the affordable all-in-one for SMBs and mid-market teams that want good-looking CX and EX surveys in one tool, not enterprise-grade analytics.

### Survicate

Survicate is a lightweight multi-channel feedback platform for product, CX and marketing teams, collecting in-product, website, email, link and mobile feedback plus an AI feedback repository. It is fast and cheap versus a Qualtrics XM rollout.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Surveys live in days or hours, with a simpler UI non-specialists can run.
- Stronger in-product and website targeting (exit-intent, scroll and event triggers via mobile SDKs, in-app via Intercom and Braze).
- Transparent published pricing and 40-plus native, often bidirectional integrations.

**Watch out for**

- No advanced statistical analysis, no predictive analytics, and lighter text analytics.
- No dedicated EmployeeXM (no lifecycle, 360 or workforce analytics) and no benchmark datasets.

**Pricing**

Published but currently inconsistent across sources (volume-dependent): Free, Starter around $56 to $89, Growth around $114, Pro around $349, Enterprise around $569 per month. Confirm with the vendor.

**What users say**

Rated 4.6 on G2 (216 reviews) and 4.6 on Capterra (99); Capterra flags some reviews as vendor-referred with an incentive. Founded 2013 in Warsaw, independent.

**Verdict:** the pick for continuous in-product and website feedback live in days, not a research platform or an EX program.

**Group 3: Customer experience, VoC and contact center (not employee)**

### Medallia

Medallia is an enterprise experience-management platform built for always-on, omnichannel signal capture (surveys plus voice, video, social, messaging and digital) across CX, EX and contact center at industrial scale. It is chosen over Qualtrics for operational breadth, not survey rigor.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Broader non-survey signal capture (voice speech analytics, video for deskless workers, social, messaging and digital behavior) out of the box.
- Stronger frontline and contact-center operations, including Stella Connect agent-level quality management and real-time coaching.
- Built for very large, multi-geography, high-volume operational deployments.

**Watch out for**

- Weaker research-grade analytics (no Stats iQ equivalent) and text and AI analysis rated below Qualtrics for rigorous research.
- Thinner named EX depth (no distinct 360, manager action planning or people analytics) and no standalone brand or product research pillar.

**Pricing**

Quote-only, enterprise-only, metered on Experience Data Records. Vendr shows a wide range; full-enterprise averages run into the hundreds of thousands a year, with add-on modules billed separately.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (212 reviews) and 4.5 on Capterra (33). Taken private by Thoma Bravo in a $6.4B deal in 2021.

**Verdict:** the enterprise CX and VoC choice for omnichannel, contact-center-heavy operations, not an employee-experience swap.

### InMoment

InMoment is an experience-management platform built around CX, conversation analytics and reputation management on its XI Platform, with text analytics (Lexalytics heritage) as its technical core. It is a credible CX and VoC Qualtrics swap but a weaker EX one.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Deep text and conversation analytics (the Lexalytics NLP engine) without the Qualtrics price tag, often winning on usability.
- Native reputation and review management (ReviewTrackers), which Qualtrics does not own.
- Outscores Qualtrics on G2 for ease of use, setup and support, at lower mid-market contract cost.

**Watch out for**

- EX is materially weaker: feedback surveys only, no full EmployeeXM-depth lifecycle, 360 or people analytics.
- Thinner statistical rigor and more limited survey flexibility (reviewers flag missing branching).

**Pricing**

Quote-only and modular. Vendr shows a median in the low tens of thousands with a range to $300,000-plus; typical mid-market deployments run roughly $80,000 to $180,000 a year, with text analytics often a separate line item.

**What users say**

Rated 4.7 on G2 (around 319 reviews) and 4.3 on Capterra (29). PE-owned (Madison Dearborn), built from many acquisitions including Lexalytics and ReviewTrackers.

**Verdict:** the CX and VoC alternative for teams that want strong text and conversation analytics and reputation management, not a pure EX buy.

### Sprinklr

Sprinklr is a unified customer-experience (Unified-CXM) platform centered on social listening, digital customer care and social publishing. It overlaps Qualtrics only on customer and brand listening and is explicitly out of category for employee experience.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Open-web and social listening across 30-plus channels for unsolicited, digital-first signal.
- A full digital-first contact center (voice, live chat, bots, agent assist) that Qualtrics does not run.
- Native social publishing, paid social and a unified social inbox on one data model with an AI layer.

**Watch out for**

- No employee-experience product at all (no engagement, lifecycle, 360, pulse or people analytics).
- Thin structured-survey rigor and weaker statistics, with no research panels or normative survey benchmarks.

**Pricing**

Quote-only enterprise; self-serve sign-up was discontinued, with all suites routing to sales. Large global brands report six- and seven-figure annual bills, with advanced AI as paid add-ons.

**What users say**

Rated 4.3 on G2 (Service, 770 reviews) and 4.2 on Capterra (94). Public (NYSE: CXM), with FY2025 revenue around $857M.

**Verdict:** a social and digital customer-care platform, relevant only for the customer and brand listening slice of Qualtrics, with nothing for employee experience.

### Verint

Verint is a contact-center and CX automation company combining workforce engagement management, speech, text and digital interaction analytics, and VoC on the Verint Open Platform with Da Vinci AI. It overlaps Qualtrics on VoC and text analytics but is built for the contact center, not survey research or EX.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Native at-scale speech and interaction analytics tied to agents and conversations, which Qualtrics has no equivalent to.
- Workforce engagement management (forecasting, scheduling, quality, agent AI copilots) that Qualtrics does not play in.
- AI automation of the operation via the Open Platform and a 40-plus Da Vinci AI bot library.

**Watch out for**

- No dedicated EX research suite (no engagement, lifecycle, 360 or manager action planning) and weak structured-survey design.
- No research-grade statistics, and an enterprise, implementation-heavy rollout (around 6 months for WFM, up to 18 months to ROI).

**Pricing**

Quote-only, module-based, per named user. Rated at G2's top cost tier, scaling by module and bot consumption.

**What users say**

Rated 4.2 on G2 (Workforce Management, 213 reviews) and 8.3 on TrustRadius. Taken private by Thoma Bravo in a roughly $2B deal that closed November 2025 and combined with Calabrio.

**Verdict:** a contact-center and interaction-analytics platform, relevant only if your Qualtrics use was VoC off real interactions, not surveys or EX.

**Group 4: Market, consumer and UX research (adjacent, not XM)**

### Attest

Attest is a consumer and market research platform with a global respondent panel built in: you build a survey, pick an audience and field against Attest's own panel in one flow. It is a strong alternative to Qualtrics's research and brand side with almost no EX overlap.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- A native built-in panel of 150M-plus consumers across 59 markets with a flat audience fee and no premium for niche targeting.
- Consistently rated intuitive and fast to get a study live, versus Qualtrics's steep curve.
- A designated research expert and human success included on every plan, versus Qualtrics's paid support tiers.

**Watch out for**

- No EmployeeXM and no CX-operations capability, the biggest gap for a people-team buyer.
- Narrower advanced methodology (lighter on conjoint, MaxDiff and deep statistical modeling) and a smaller benchmark library.

**Pricing**

Credit-based annual license (a credit is one answer from one person), quote-only on the site, with third-party starting indicators around $15,000 a year for the Basic tier. Unused credits do not roll over.

**What users say**

Rated 4.5 on G2 (169 reviews) and 4.7 on Capterra (6, a thin sample). Founded 2015 in London, VC-backed.

**Verdict:** the pick for consumer and brand research with respondents built in, replacing the research slice of Qualtrics, not EX or CX operations.

### Alida

Alida (formerly Vision Critical) is a Total Experience Management platform built around insight communities, branded opt-in customer panels researched continuously. It is a credible but niche Qualtrics alternative that wins on communities and trails on breadth, statistics and EX.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Insight communities (Sparq) for engaged, longitudinal, relationship-based research with depth Qualtrics does not try to match.
- Blends quantitative surveys with qualitative work (discussions, video) against the same enriched member profiles.
- Beats Qualtrics CX on G2 for ease of setup, support and admin, plus managed-services options.

**Watch out for**

- No dedicated EX suite at all (no engagement, lifecycle, 360 or people analytics) and no product or brand-tracking pillar.
- Weaker statistical analysis, less mature text analytics, fewer benchmarks, and a two-platform legacy problem.

**Pricing**

Quote-only, no public tiers. Third-party estimates put a mid-tier community around $60,000 to $150,000 a year, scaling into the hundreds of thousands for large global deployments.

**What users say**

Rated 4.4 on G2 (132 reviews) and 5.0 on Capterra (7, vendor-invited). Private, Toronto and Vancouver, reported profitable again as of early 2024.

**Verdict:** the choice for ongoing insight communities and longitudinal research, if that specific method is what you wanted from Qualtrics.

### UserTesting

UserTesting is a human-insight platform for watching real people use products, prototypes and concepts on narrated video, recruited from its contributor network. It is qualitative UX research that overlaps Qualtrics only at the edges and does nothing for EX.

**Where it beats Qualtrics**

- Speed to real human reaction: write a test in the morning and watch narrated video of real users by the afternoon, with recruiting and scheduling handled.
- Video evidence of the "why" (users struggling, backtracking) that Qualtrics's numbers cannot produce, plus moderated Live Conversation interviews.
- Lighter to operate for its core job, with no research-ops function or long implementation needed.

**Watch out for**

- No experience-management suite (no CustomerXM, EmployeeXM or BrandXM) and no employee-experience surveying.
- Not a general survey platform (logic and branching far below CoreXM) and weaker large-scale statistics and benchmarking.

**Pricing**

Quote-only, annual, seat-based with usage limits across Essentials, Advanced and Ultimate tiers. Vendr shows a median around $40,000 a year.

**What users say**

Rated 4.4 on G2 (around 794 reviews) and 4.5 on Capterra (around 132). Taken private by Thoma Bravo and Sunstone in 2022, merged with UserZoom.

**Verdict:** the qualitative UX research tool for seeing and hearing real users react to designs, adjacent to Qualtrics rather than a swap for it.

### Sageo

![Sageo's competency framework generated from company values, the performance layer that acts on culture rather than measuring sentiment](https://sageo.ai/screenshots/framework-matrix-v2.png)

Let us be plain: Sageo is not a Qualtrics alternative in the way the other fifteen are. It is not a survey platform, not an experience-management suite, and not an engagement-listening tool. It has no research-grade survey engine, no Stats iQ or Text iQ equivalent, no benchmark library, and nothing for customer, brand or product experience. Where it is relevant is one narrow, specific thing: if what you actually wanted from Qualtrics EmployeeXM was to act on your culture, run performance, development and 360s, rather than only measure how people feel, that is exactly what Sageo does. It [turns your values into a competency framework](/features/ai-competency-frameworks) and runs the performance motion on top.

**What it is (and where it beats EmployeeXM)**

- Culture-first performance: a level-by-level competency framework generated from your values, then weighted scoring, 360 review cycles, calibration with an audit trail, AI development plans, goals and monthly 1:1s.
- A system that acts, not just listens. Qualtrics EmployeeXM measures engagement and sentiment; Sageo runs the review-and-development cycle itself.
- Published, flat pricing and about an hour to set up, with "AI drafts, humans decide" and names stripped before any AI call, versus a consultant-led Qualtrics rollout.

**What it is not**

- Not a survey or research tool: no CoreXM-style survey builder, no advanced statistics or text analytics, no benchmarks, and no CX, brand or product XM.
- Not an engagement-listening platform: if continuous engagement measurement is the job, keep a survey or EX tool. Sageo does feedback and recognition, not research-grade listening.
- Too new for a public review record, so we keep any rating comparison out of the Sageo row rather than pad it.

**Pricing**

About €6 per seat per month in Europe ($7 elsewhere, priced by region), every module included, billed annually with a 10-seat minimum and a 14-day free trial. Transparent, where Qualtrics is quote-only.

**Verdict:** choose Sageo only if what you wanted from the employee pillar was to act on culture (performance, development, 360s), not to measure sentiment. For engagement surveys and research, pair it with one of the tools above, or keep Qualtrics EmployeeXM. More in section 8.

## 7. When should you stay on Qualtrics?

Plenty of teams should not leave. Qualtrics earns its cost when the requirements are genuinely research-grade and enterprise-wide.

- You need advanced survey research: sophisticated logic, quotas, 23 question types, and research-grade methodology that lighter tools do not match.
- You rely on statistical and text analytics depth (Stats iQ, Driver iQ, Text iQ, Predict iQ) for regression, driver analysis and verbatim theming in-platform.
- You use large external benchmark datasets to compare engagement or experience against industry norms.
- You want experience management across the whole business (customer, employee, brand and product) on one platform. Qualtrics is the only tool here that does all four.
- You are a large enterprise with mature governance, hierarchy management and security needs, and the team to run it. For that buyer, Qualtrics remains the safer institutional bet.

## 8. Where does Sageo fit?

Sageo is not a Qualtrics alternative for measurement, and we would rather say that clearly than stretch the claim. It does not run surveys, research or experience management. It is a culture-first performance and development platform, and it overlaps Qualtrics only in the employee pillar, and even there on a different job.

**Measure versus act:** Qualtrics EmployeeXM is built to listen: engagement, lifecycle, pulse, people analytics. It tells you how people feel and where risk sits. Sageo is built to act: it turns your values into a competency framework and runs the reviews, calibration, 1:1s and development plans on top. If the frustration with Qualtrics was that you were measuring culture but not doing anything with it, that is the gap Sageo fills. If you need the measurement itself at research grade, Sageo is not your tool.

- A values-based competency framework, the thing most performance tools assume you already have, generated by AI and owned by you.
- Calibrated, auditable reviews and AI development plans, with names stripped before any AI call and a person deciding every output.
- Transparent flat pricing (about €6 per seat in Europe, $7 elsewhere) and roughly an hour to set up, against Qualtrics's quote-only enterprise contracts.

> **Honest limits**
>
> If you need engagement surveys, lifecycle studies, research-grade statistics, big benchmarks, or experience management across customers, brand and product, buy one of the tools in this guide (Culture Amp and Perceptyx for EX, the survey tools for research, the CX suites for customer experience). Sageo does none of that. Its job is to make the performance and development motion genuinely good, on top of whatever listening tool you keep.

**See it in Sageo** [Turn your values into a working performance system](https://sageo.ai/features/ai-competency-frameworks): See how Sageo generates a competency framework from your values, then runs calibrated 360s, 1:1s and development plans, the part a listening tool leaves to you.

[Best Employee Engagement Software](https://sageo.ai/guides/best-employee-engagement-software): If engagement listening is the real job, compare the dedicated survey and engagement tools and where Sageo does and does not fit.

## 9. How this comparison was researched

Compiled in October 2026 from vendor product and pricing documentation, G2, Capterra, GetApp and TrustRadius, and procurement data (Vendr). Ratings and review counts are as of that date and vary by product listing, since Qualtrics and several competitors split into multiple listings across review sites; small samples (Perceptyx, Attest, Alida and others on Capterra) are flagged and weighted with care, and Capterra and GetApp often share one Gartner Digital Markets pool. Qualtrics and most enterprise CX and research tools are quote-only, so dollar figures are directional, not list prices, and unverified competitor-blog figures for Qualtrics (a "$1,500 starter" and a "$657,000 enterprise average") are deliberately not presented as fact. Sageo is the publisher of this page, is too new for a meaningful public review record (so it carries no rating here), and is a performance and development platform rather than a survey or experience-management tool; its per-seat price is shown by region (about €6 in Europe, $7 elsewhere). All product names are trademarks of their owners, and this comparison is not endorsed by any of them.

## The verdict

- **Best employee-experience swap (with performance built in):** Culture Amp. the closest EmployeeXM alternative, with native performance and development that Qualtrics does not have as a first-class product, for HR teams rather than research ops.

- **Best enterprise employee listening with a services bench:** Perceptyx. two decades of EX-only depth, a people-science services bench, and the Humu nudge engine for behavior change, for Global 2000 scale.

- **Best fast, self-serve survey tool at a published price:** SurveyMonkey or QuestionPro. SurveyMonkey for speed and reach from about $30 per user; QuestionPro for the closest Qualtrics-like research breadth (conjoint, MaxDiff, communities) at a fraction of the cost, with a free tier.

- **Best for customer experience, VoC or contact center:** Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr or Verint. omnichannel CX and interaction analytics. These replace Qualtrics CustomerXM, not EmployeeXM, so they are weak swaps for a people team.

- **Best for market, consumer or UX research:** Attest, Alida or UserTesting. a built-in consumer panel (Attest), insight communities (Alida), or qualitative UX video (UserTesting). They replace only the research slice.

- **Best if you wanted to act on culture, not just measure it:** Sageo. not a survey or XM tool, but a culture-first performance platform: competency frameworks from your values, then 360s, calibration, 1:1s and development plans, at about EUR 6 per seat in Europe ($7 elsewhere). Pair it with a survey tool for engagement listening.

**Bottom line.** Not every Qualtrics alternative serves the same buyer, because Qualtrics spans four jobs. For employee experience, Culture Amp (with performance built in) or Perceptyx. For self-serve surveys at a published price, SurveyMonkey, QuestionPro, Alchemer, Typeform, SurveySparrow or Survicate. For customer experience and VoC, Medallia, InMoment, Sprinklr or Verint. For market and UX research, Attest, Alida or UserTesting. Sageo is not a survey or XM tool at all; it is a performance and development platform that acts on culture rather than measuring it, so pair it with a listening tool if you need engagement surveys.

## Frequently asked questions

### What is the best alternative to Qualtrics?

It depends on which part of Qualtrics you used. For employee experience, Culture Amp (which adds native performance management) or Perceptyx. For self-serve surveys at a published price, SurveyMonkey or QuestionPro (the closest to Qualtrics-like research breadth, cheaper). For customer experience and VoC, Medallia or InMoment. For social and digital care, Sprinklr; for contact-center analytics, Verint. For market and UX research, Attest, Alida or UserTesting. Sageo is a different category: a performance and development platform, not a survey tool.

### Why do companies leave Qualtrics?

The common reasons are cost and price creep (renewals carry roughly a 5 percent annual uplift and a real EmployeeXM deployment lands in five figures and up), too much platform for what most teams need, a steep learning curve that often needs a dedicated admin or consultant, everything being a paid add-on (Text iQ and Stats iQ are separate line items), opaque quote-only pricing, and response caps that trigger overages. Qualtrics remains an excellent research-grade platform, so these are usually fit and cost issues.

### What is a cheaper alternative to Qualtrics?

The published-pricing survey tools are far cheaper: SurveyMonkey (Team from $30 per user), QuestionPro (Advanced $99 per user, with a free tier), Alchemer ($315 to $1,895 per user per year), Typeform (from about $29) and SurveySparrow (from $19). Qualtrics is quote-only beyond its $420-a-month self-serve Strategic Research tier, so almost any self-serve tool is cheaper for straightforward surveys.

### What is the best Qualtrics alternative for employee experience?

Culture Amp is the closest like-for-like for Qualtrics EmployeeXM, and it adds native performance management (reviews, calibration, 1:1s, goals) that Qualtrics does not have as a first-class product. Perceptyx is the enterprise employee-listening specialist with a services bench and a nudge-based action layer. If what you actually wanted was to run performance and development rather than measure sentiment, Sageo is a culture-first performance platform, though it is not a survey tool.

### Is Sageo a Qualtrics alternative?

Not as a like-for-like. Sageo is not a survey platform, not an experience-management suite, and not an engagement-listening tool: it has no research-grade survey engine, no advanced statistics or text analytics, no benchmarks, and nothing for customer, brand or product experience. It is relevant only to the employee pillar, and even there on a different job: it acts on culture by turning your values into a competency framework and running 360s, calibration, 1:1s and development plans. If you need engagement surveys and research, pair Sageo with a survey tool or keep Qualtrics EmployeeXM.
